Republicans have to propose ways to cover up 45 million Americans who are without health insurance, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney said today.
The previous Massachusetts governor made the statements to about 150 people at a luncheon in business district Des Moines. Romney is recognized for serving design and passes a Massachusetts plan needed everyone to have health insurance. Those who can't pay for insurance get subsidies, but the policies are offered by private insurers, Romney said. No tax increase was needed, he said.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Gov. Ted Strickland, who took office in January, would now not accept the state’s health insurance advantage for employees as so many Ohioans are uninsured, a spokesman said.
Strickland took the same place when he was first chosen to Congress in 1992, paying for his own health insurance plan coverage as representing a rural southeast Ohio district, which included parts of Appalachia.
As governor, Strickland was at first undecided about whether to believe the state's medical benefits. He eventually decided that he and First Lady Frances Strickland will not.
