Chennai: United India Insurance Company Limited has recently launched a health insurance plan policy for the below the poverty line 2004 tsunami-victims families living in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Pondicherry.
Launching the central government sponsored policy in these cities on 18 March, 2007, the union finance minister P Chidambaram stated, the health insurance plan policy will cover 4.5 lakh tsunami affected families. The central government would bear the Rs36 crore premiums.
