The use of "virtual" interdisciplinary health-care group linked by phone, fax and e-mail improves the health care of adults with chronic health issues, according to a U.S. study.
Patients who established this kind of coordinated care - that comprises physicians, pharmacists, dieticians, social workers and also some other professionals - needed fewer emergency group visits than those who did not yet receive it, according to researchers at Rush University Medical Center, in Chicago.
