COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Gov. Ted Strickland, who took office in January, would now not accept the state’s health insurance advantage for employees as so many Ohioans are uninsured, a spokesman said.
Strickland took the same place when he was first chosen to Congress in 1992, paying for his own health insurance plan coverage as representing a rural southeast Ohio district, which included parts of Appalachia.
As governor, Strickland was at first undecided about whether to believe the state's medical benefits. He eventually decided that he and First Lady Frances Strickland will not.
