INDIANAPOLIS: Some people with no insurance will be entitled for health coverage, but smokers will pay 44 cents more per pack under a bill Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels signed into law last week.
In a Statehouse formal procedure attended by about 300 people, the governor signed House Bill 1678 that raises the cigarette tax to fund a health insurance plan policy for low-income Hoosiers and provide infancy vaccinations, among other things.
