People would now be able to select from a huge range of medical insurance plans when China reforms its public health plan system, central government officials said.
Researchers and global organizations have long agreed for China to move away from a government domination of all health-related services.
In January, Chen Wenhui, assistant chairman of the China Health Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC), said marketable insurance services were a fundamental part of assisting China builds up "a multi-level health plan network with all its citizens insured".
