Round 3 of the fight over whether to unite health insurance for the employees of Oregon's 198 school districts got happening at the Capitol Thursday, with members of the Senate Education Committee vote along party lines to send the suggestion to the full chamber.
Legislators fought over the offer during 2003 and 2005 legislative sessions, and it is a pet cause of Democratic Gov. Ted Kulongoski, whose management says a statewide health care pool for educators can save $270 million over the next five years.
