Delta Dental Plans
Delta Dental is one of the largest dental carriers in the country. In 1954, many dentists wanted to increase access to oral health care formed dental service organizations in California, Oregon and Washington. Led by Washington Dental Service (WDS), Delta Dental created dental benefits with employee benefits programs for organized labor unions.
At present, Delta Dental Plans Association is comprised of 39 independent Delta Dental member companies operating in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. These member companies provide coverage to over 54 million people, enrolled in over 89,000 groups.

Delta Dental of California provides dental benefit plans in United States.

Delta Dental Plans include Delta Dental Premier, Delta Care USA, Delta Dental PPO and Delta Vision.
It also provides dental insurance plans through its subsidiary.
Offers plans to individuals, families, seniors, retirees and businesses, as well as federal, state and local government agencies.
Delta Dental of California was known as California Dental Service.
Delta Dental Company was founded in 1955 and is based in San Francisco, California.
Delta Dental insurance offers several packages with features geared toward specific groups. Companies can choose their plan based on the specific needs of their employees.
Premier:
Members are given the freedom to choose a dentist based on their choice.
If member chooses a preferred provider from the dentist network, incentives and out-of-pocket expenses are less.

Patients don’t have to file paperwork.
Billing is handled on a previously agreed upon schedule.
PPO:
With low cost option, Delta members are free to choose their provider. If a preferred provider is chosen, member’s expenses are lowered. Members can opt to use a non-network dentist for an increased fee. Patients do not have to file paperwork.
Delta Care USA:
Similar to HMO, members can select from a panel of primary care dentists.
Minimal or no patient co-payments for preventive care.
Network dentists files claims directly.
A prepaid dental coverage plan.

One of the famous program on which they keep working is Smilemobiles wherein they travel to rural areas to provide healthcare and education to kids. Through Water Fluoridation program, it tries to educate people and support fluoridated water system in different states.
