
Medicare Health Insurance has four parts
• Hospital insurance or Medicare Part A (hospital
insurance) that helps to pay for care in a hospital and skilled
nursing facility, home health care and also for hospice health care;
and
• Medical insurance or Medicare
Part B (medical insurance) that helps to pay for doctors, outpatient
hospital care and some other medical services
• Medicare Advantage (Part C) previously known as Medicare + Choice
plans that are available in many areas. People with Medicare Parts
A and B have an option to choose, and to receive all of their health
care services through one of these provider organizations under
Part C.
• Prescription drug coverage (Part D), which
helps pay for medications doctors prescribe for treatment.
