Get these guarantees in writing. Sales Illustrations It is likely that a life insurance agent would show you one or more life insurance policy sale illustrations. An illustration consists of a series of numbers indicating how the life insurance policy works. The illustration generally shows the guaranteed results under the life insurance policy for each year in the future, and the results if all the non-guaranteed items continue to unchange their present level. This would probably not happen - actual results might be better or even worse than the non-guaranteed amounts shown in the illustration of life insurance (but not worse than those that are actually guaranteed). Using Indexes Your chances of finding a good buy are better if you use
the index numbers, which have been developed to aid you in shopping for
life insurance policy. The Buyer’s Guide that each insured is necessary
to provide a purchaser explains these index numbers in detail. They are
good tools to assist you contrast the merits of similar life
insurance policies.
